Jordan making homemade cream soda. He wouldn't dress up! It was a fun evening eating chili, cornbread, rootbeer and candy! Family fun at it's finest. Even Maddie Jantzens girl came over and we watched "Ernest scared stupid!"

OUR WARD PARTY......
Our Ward party is such a blast. We have each all the ward auxiliaries help with each area. Then all the kids and grand kids and families come! And it is safe and warm inside.

This is the Yummie Mummies shop run by the Relief Society. All the women sign up to bring treats. then all of the kids get tickets at each of the activities and the kids can come and turn their tickets in for yummie treats!

All the deacons, priests and teachers put together little games for the kids to play and get tickets. Deacons did "Monster Parts" touching monsters brains and eyeballs.

This is the cupcake walk put together by the mia maids. There was also a picture booth and the grand costume parade!

The beehives were doing a fish pond. The primary did a little spook ally. These pictures aren't great but we had about 300 people show up. It is such a fun tradition.

Carving pumpkins can be a little crazy with these two guys!! Hope you had a wonderful Halloween!!!

Here is the recipe I used for the Rice krispie treats. I loved the Orange flavor. Scott said he like regular rice krispie treats so if you want to do those then just add food coloring to the recipe. Enjoy!

PUMPKIN HALLOWEEN RICE KRISPIE TREATS!

Rice crispy treats get transformed into jack o' lanterns in this adorable Halloween candy recipe! These rice crispy pumpkin balls also make great Halloween decorations or party centerpieces. Experiment with different facial expressions to give your pumpkins variety and personality.

Ingredients:

• 3 cups miniature marshmallows or 30 large

• 1 oz (2 tbsp) butter

• 4 cups crispy rice cereal

• 1 small box (3 oz size) orange-flavored gelatin

• Tootsie rolls and 1 air head

Preparation:

1. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil and spraying the foil with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Place the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30-45 seconds to melt it. Add the marshmallows, and microwave for an additional 90 seconds to melt them. The marshmallows might not look melted at the end of this time, but once you stir them, they should liquefy.

3. Stir to blend the butter and marshmallows, then add the orange gelatin. Stir until the gelatin is well-incorporated: the mixture might look grainy at this point, but it will be okay once the cereal is added..

4. Add the crispy rice cereal and stir until it is thoroughly coated and there are no dry patches.

5. Let cook maybe 1-2 minutes. Spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray, and scoop up a handful of the cereal mixture. Press it firmly between your hands, forming a ball shape. Make sure that the balls are compact; loosely formed balls easily fall apart. If the balls don't form at first, allow the mixture to sit for another minute and cool, this seems to help them hold together. If the mixture starts to cool to fast before all the balls are formed put them back in the microwave for 10 seconds and start again. Put in the tootsie roll stems on the top before they firm up. You can use green frosting or air heads or other green candy to make leaves and vines. I used air heads. I warmed them in the microwave and then pulled pieces off and rolled them for a vine and then pulled a piece off and formed it with my fingers as a leaf. Then I made lines with a tooth pick. If they don’t stick when you put it on the top of the RC treat put a dab of water on the bottom.

6. Place the rice crispy balls on the prepared baking sheet and allow them to firm up at room temperature. Makes six or seven treats.

State Cup Champs!!!

Jayden's team went undefeated through spring and fall and then went on to win the state cup championship tournament in the U12 division. They will now travel to Phoenix to play Regionals in June. We are so excited for this team and for how well they all play together.

Jayden now feels like he is a part of our soccer family! He has his own championship! We have a combined total of 12 club State Cup championships, 2 State championships, 2 state championship runners up, 1 state MVP, 1 college soccer All American, three college soccer players and a bronze medal from the Jordan in Ireland. Jayden now has his own medal. Ok some of that athleticism had to come from me...it couldn't have all come from Scott! Right?????? Well I think I could be called the legitimate Soccer Mom! Bragging no...proving a point...Yes! I'm crazy! Completely and totally CRAZY!!

Kinley Shantae Yeats 5 pounds 13 oz

I'm a Pamma again!! Kinley Shantae Yeats was born Wednesday at 1:05 p.m. weighing in at

5 pounds 13 oz and 18 inches long. She is a tiny one just like Lexie! Lexie was actually 1 oz bigger. Shantae was induced at about 8:00 a.m.

Mom and baby are doing great! She looks like Shantae to me. Lexie looks just like her Daddy!

Game day with McKenzie is so fun! We all were able to go last week and we all had our fun shirts on. I know people think I'm weird but this matching shirt thing is so me! I think McKenzie likes it too! We have her number on the back. "19"

We had little shirts made for Lexie and Evie too! They say "GO KENZIE" and have her number on the back.

Evie she just wanted to run or roll down the hill! She also wanted to go on the field. I think she will love to play soccer when she gets older!

Shantae's neighbor told her that they were doing a 50th wedding anniversary party for his parents. Donny Osmond was a good friend of theirs so they said we could come and listen to him perform in their back yard. So we sat on Shante's lawn and listened to Donny sing. Ahhh amazing!

Many of you may know the Domens from Ontario, Oregon. Yes their sons are the BYU football player Domens, and their daughter Debbie is a good friend of mine. I had no idea that Debbie's brother lived next to Shantae.

So yes all my childhood fantasies were fulfilled and Donny was amazing! Gotta love that purple shirt:)

Something Ironic: I was standing in line at Home Depot when Merrill Osmond (lead singer of the Osmond brothers) gets in line behind me. Thirty five years ago I would have fainted, today I just smiled and said "Hello". Then I checked out and went to my car and turned my XM radio station to 70's music and who's on the radio....you guessed it! The Osmonds, singing "Just like a YO YO"! So I rolled down my windows and turned it up as I drove out of the parking lot. I hope I made his day (someone still listens to him) because he made mine!!!

Mckenzie's graduation was the 2nd of June. Yes I know I'm a little late in getting the pictures on my blog but sometimes it takes awhile to collect them all from my kids. Mckenzie is finally done and on her way to college! She is so excited to get out of here!!! You can tell by this picture!!!! She will soon learn that college isn't just a place to play soccer:)

Our neighbor made this cute cake for McKenzie for graduation. She made a soccer cake and decorated it in her favorite color YELLOW. She did a great job! Notice McKenzie's Lea made from gumballs. Shantae works at Thanksgiving point and came up with this clever idea! So cute

Heart Breaker!

Mt. View played an amazing game against Mt. Crest last night! We lost 2-1 in overtime! Jantzen played amazing as a defensive midfielder. He placed balls up to the offense all night, they just couldn't finish. We out shot them 20-3...they scored on 2 of those. (corner kick and free kick)

Disappointment! He was heartbroken. So was the rest of the team. It's hard to lose. Both of my kids did something most kids never get to do. Playing in Rio Tinto twice. Winning at least once the State Championship. That is an awesome accomplishment for them. I am very grateful:)

We had so much fun cheering Jantzen on! McKenzie and Shayla kept yelling "Hey that's my brother, everytime Jantzen made a pass or made a great stop! I think they were really proud!

Congrats Jantzen you are awesome!

I know I know two posts in two days it is a miracle!! I just had to add these pictures of Jantzen's hair. He cut it for the big state game tonight! I know it is ugly, but he says it make a little guy look intimidating.....but his intimidation ends after the game. He has to shave it off for church:) I hope he looks good bald.

What has been happening the last few months

It has been a wild couple months of soccer! All my kids Ref and Play and I am a Ref coordinator. So as you can see we are extremely busy! Here is what we have been up too!

Jantzen plays for Mt. View High School and they are playing for the State Championships on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Rio Tinto!! Yes I said this six months ago with my daughters team. We are so excited that our kids have had the opportunity to play with such great teams. GO JANTZEN! GO BRUINS!!!!

Mckenzie went to Morp and had a great time! The theme was "Past Era's" So they went as Sailors from the 40's.

Laurel Tribute! NO MORE YOUNG WOMEN'S! All my girls are out of Young Women now. No more camp, no more evening in excellence, no more Personal Progress!!

It is Conference Weekend! Yesterday we were playing soccer games, and wearing shorts. It was almost 70 degrees. And look at what we woke up to this morning!! My back yard covered in snow! Lexie's little slide and rocking horse out from the day before! Utah Spring weather kills me. I do not like to be teased!!

I love General Conference so much! It is such a blessing in our families lives. I love the inspiration I get from our sweat Prophet and everyone that speaks. Such a wonderful time of year. Pajama Day:)

As you know I love to follow peoples blogs. I follow Penny's food blog all the time and it has wonderful recipes for dinner. ( It is located on my blog favorites on the side of the page.) We have JIMMER FEVER in this house!! We are so geared up for the big game against Florida State!! Jordan and Jayden both have Jimmer shirts and wear them every game. Jantzen is going to Gonzaga Basketball camp next year. His whole basketball team bought Jimmer shirts to wear. I wonder if they will be welcome??

My baby girls is 18!!!!

Mckenzie turned 18 last Saturday. I can't believe my last little girl is that old. She was the golden child when she was born. There had been 5 years in between her and Shayla and we were so excited to get her. On her birthday we had tickets to the Jazz game, but Scott and I were called to head up our ward trek fund raiser. The youth in our ward are going on a pioneer trek and We were called to be in charge of a silent auction. The night it fell on was March 5. Mckenzie was none to happy. So Shayla came down and took her to lunch and to the Mall to buy and outfit. They had so much fun!! Her friends took her to breakfast. I promised her Monday was all hers.

Then she had a date that night and the guy stood her up!! What a jerk! She was really hurt. (He claimed he got in trouble and had his phone and car taken away. Heard that one before) So Shayla took her up to her house for the rest of the weekend. Monday morning we were going to Gateway Mall. Yet again it was horrible weather. So we went to Fashion Place Mall!!! Here we are getting the birthday pedicure.

We decided the best pedicures are given in Orem. Our toes didn't look very good and the foot massage was terrible. We don't get to do this very often so it was a big disappointment.

The most important thing is we were together! Mckenzie spent the rest of the afternoon shopping (until a fight happened in the mall) and then off to lunch at Olive Garden.

Lexie and Evie were so good. They are the cutest little angels ever!!

Then that night the family took her to Los Hermanos. It was so much fun except for the fact our waitress got our whole meal wrong three times. We got laughing so hard because we couldn't figure out how someone could screw up so bad. Poor Mckenzie. She really had a hard birthday!!

It's a good thing her Sunday School teacher brought her a cake and made it all better!!

So here is a summary of her 18th birthday.....

Her Mom and Dad ruined her birthday.

Her date stood her up.

She stayed up all night because Evie wouldn't sleep.

The weather was bad so we couldn't go to gateway shopping.

Her pedicure smeared.

There was a gang fight in the Mall so we had to leave early.

We drove home from Salt Lake in a nail biting blizzard

The waitress screwed up our food three times.

She couldn't find any cute TOMS that she wanted for her birthday.

Weekend in Midway!!

For Presidents day we went to Midway to my son-in-law Connors family vacation home. The home is in Valais in Midway, Utah. It is such a fun place to go with swimming, basketball, hot tubs...just a great place to relax. Yet it is close enough to home that we can run back and forth (which we did 3 times for basketball and dances). Connors brother Talmage and Jantzen's girlfriend Maddie came along. Here we are playing games. Boxers and Briefs seemed to be the favorite! Wacky Six came in a close second.

In the bunk bed room Connor made a jumping mat out of the mattresses. The kids all had a blast.

Oh and so did their father! I think he is a little crazy for a 50 year old! (well almost 50)

Boys will be Boys!! Men will be Men.....until they throw their backs out! (Scott didn't but usually does)

Maddie joined right in on the fun. Poor girl, the kids kept her up until 4:30 in the morning! Party time:) Do they ever grow up?!

Jayden went over and over and over! Connor really knows how to have fun. Thanks so much to him for a fun 3 day weekend. Midway got 20 inches of snow that weekend, but we didn't even notice..we just partied and partied.

2 birthdays next week and boys high school soccer first game on Monday. I will have a lot to post!

The Jock and the Cheerleader, The Princess and Preference

Jantzen played his last home game tonight at Mt.View High School. It's off to playoffs on Saturday and then it is Soccer tryouts on Monday! I'm so excited for soccer to start! Jantzen and Maddie had their picture taken after the game. The Jock and The Cheerleader:)

Preference

Mckenzie and her friend Trae went to Preference on Saturday. Their day date was at Provo Beach Resort. An indoor theme park. They rode the carousel, played laser tag and did the sky high ropes course.

They had dinner at Macaroni grill. yummmmmm.

No Sleep!

Ok, so I have Insomnia. I have been up since 2:30. It is now 6:15. I think it is because I have sworn off Diet Coke. I'm trying to not drink soda...but we will see how long that last! Diet Coke has come to haunt me. So instead of sleeping I sit here bored! Today was Valentines. Oh I guess I should say Yesterday was Valetines Day. Not my favorite holiday, but that is for a different post...not today. Jantzen really wanted to take his little girlfriend out to dinner, but we told him NO SINGLE DATING! He didn't like that. So his Mother was told she needed to make the reservations for him. Guess who made them for 4 instead of 2. And guess who was sitting at his table when he arrived at Macaroni Grill. Yep you guessed it!! A romantic dinner with Jantzen and his girlfriend Maddie, and his parents. Awkward!!! Hehehehe. Actually it really wasn't. Maddie was excited to see us and Jantzen couldn't explode at us with Maddie around:) We had a fun evening and really enjoyed ourselves. Yes I do have pictures I will post a little later today! ( if I wake up).

Lexie also came to visit me at work today. She brought me a Valentines Rose. She is growing up so fast. Love that little Lou Who! Grandchildren are so much more fun than your own kids!

Our "Childrens Place" just finished our remodel. We worked so many hours trying to clean and refill the store. I think I spent 3 straight days on my feet for almost 12 hours. Our Managers were there for sometimes 15-18 hours. I felt so bad for them. They really worked hard and kepta happy face. I work with such great people! They are so much fun and really enjoyable to be around. They are Awesome!! (yes Ashlyn I know you are reading this:)

I have nothing else to write about...my life is boring. Jantzen is playing basketball. He is doing well and his team hopes to make the high school playoffs this year. Ok so maybe I'll try to go sleep...or eat some breakfast. Have a great day!!!

Little Evie Belle was born on August 7th at 4:37 a.m. Yes that is right we were up all night waiting. She is so beautiful and weighed in at 7 pounds 7 ounces. She is such a beautiful little girl.

Jantzen got his licence. He is a true Teenage boy that thinks he is the best driver around and nothing can go wrong. I think that is the main reason it is so expensive to have teenage boys on your car insurance!! It is around $1500 a year to add them!!! Oh boy...he better get a job!! I don't know how the church affords to put all those thousands of missionaries on car insurance!! That is probably why so many ride bikes!!

Shayla's Birthday

I know you are all shocked that I have posted 3 times this week.....I guess that is what you get when you are taking a family history class and they tell you to keep up on your family history...so I'm trying to do better. I have to remember the blog is for me and my posterity and not just for others to read.

For all the girls birthdays we go get Pedicures. Mckenzies is in March, Shantae in May, Shayla July and mine is in Sept. This works out perfect! It was Shayla's birthday on Thursday, so Wednesday we went and had our Pedicures. We have found a place we really like, but since I had a gift certificate to the mall, we went to the mall salon. (They don't do half the job A.N.T. Nails does). The big joke is who is going to get the "bad" girl. She just doesn't do the job that everyone else does. Her leg massages are not good, her painting is terrible, and she just isn't very friendly. She doesn't do a verygood job rubbing the skin off your heals either. So of course I got her this time.

She told me that she was going to do a sunflower on my toe. Shayla said "Oh my Mom loves sunflowers. Well now I have a glob of a sunflower on my toe....the girls couldn't stop laughing when they saw it. It doesn't look to bad in the picture but it looks like you dropped a blob of mustard on your toe....and it really is funny looking. Oh well it is different!

After that we went to lunch at Noodles. (I had a buy one get one free from facebook) It was yummy. So we really had a fun time for not to much money:) I need that these days! This weekend it is off to Shayla and Connor's cabin for more Birthday celebration!!

This week I met with 3 of my college roommates I haven't seen in 27 years. 2 of them were coming to Utah to bring their kids to BYU. We had so much fun, laughing and catching up on life! We met at IHOP...thinking that was a good place to talk and laugh together. But no, we got in trouble for being to loud! Dumb guy we were just having fun...things haven't changed:) Sticky Vicky, Virgil (Virgina) Suzie Q (Sue) and me. I hate this picture...I look so fat, but oh well...I am:) I hope we can get together and see each other more often, they were so much fun:) I haven't laughed that much in a long time!!

Here are the pictures for the Pleasant Grove Prom. Mckenzies's date was Nate Greenwood. She wore my sister Jennilyn's dress that she wore to the prom years ago. It's nice how these dresses stay in style. Shantae and Shayla both wore this dress to the prom so we had to keep the tradition going!!

The Prom was held at the Barn at Thanksgiving Point. They had a wonderful dinner at Carabbas Italian restaurant. She said she had so much fun and hadn't laughed that much in a long time!!

Mckenzie enjoyed all of her Proms. She was wore out after going to 3 though. She was tired of dressing up!! She said she was lucky to have so may friends that wanted to take her. They all treated her great!

Three for three...she never stabbed one guy putting on his corsage!!

Next up....Jantzen. Jantzen went to Prom this week. As many of you know Jantzen and Mckenzie go to different High Schools. Jantzens Prom was this week....one week before graduation. Jantzen was grateful it was so late...he turned 16 and was able to go:) Pictures coming soon.

Well Scott took my computer that downloads pictures so I guess this is a pictureless post. This computer also skips letters when you write...so a sentence looks like this....." this stupid cmputer doesn't wok right, it keeps skipping etters. So if i mae amistak you will figure out itis ot my falt." It takes so much time to go back and correct.
In Relief Society we had a class on couponing. I was so excited and have learned so much. I decided to also take a Savvy shopper class to learn how to mange the coupons. It was well worth it! I take 6 papers every Sunday and it takes me about 2 hours to cut all of the coupons out. I put them in a huge binder and on Monday morning off I go to the store. On the Savvyshopper web site it has what is called the shopping wizard and it will tell you where the best place to use your coupons and the prices you pay. Yesterday i got $170 worth of groceries at Smiths and paid only $50!! I was so excited. The lady behind me was tired of waiting on me but when she saw the savings she freaked!! Last week I went to Rite-aid and got $80 worth of makeup for only $2. Today I went to Wal-green and got 12 bottles of old spice body wash for free! It has been a fun thing for me to do and focus on while Scott is gone. It has also cut our food budget in half and stocked the pantry! Look up savvyshopperdeals.com for more info.

Jantzen turned 16 on the 7th. I can't believe he is old enough to date. He is going to his Prom in 2 weeks. (Jantzen goes to a different school than Mckenzie) He has his drivers licence. Not that I let him drive much! He scares me, he's a little to confident! He hates being short and wants to grow so bad!! He's a great athlete and plays on the varsity soccer team that is defending it's state title this week as they begin the state playoffs. (Mckenzie's state club finals begin this week too.) Jantzen has a Hot temper, but a huge conscience. He love babies and little kids. He's a major tease and has the kids upset most of the time!! He's a good boy that chooses the right and works hard in his sports! (now if I could get him to work harder in school) Happy Birthday Jantzen we love you!!

This is Jantzen's picture that was posted in the paper! He headed in a goal, but they called the goal back due to a foul! Jantzen was not a Happy Camper!!

This has been a busy couple of weeks. I am the ref assignor for soccer here in the valley and doing that and working and taking care of the family can put you on the edge. Scott has been out of town for 2 weeks in Phoenix. It is soccer season and it is a rotten time for him to be gone. I feel sorry for him though because he has to miss the most important time of the season and that is State playoffs. It is a huge sacrifice and he hates missing it! He was able to drive home on Friday night (12 hours) and stay until Sunday half way through church, so he could ordain Jantzen a priest and then head back. It was a short Mothers day but at least he could spend sometime with Jantzen for his birthday. He took him golfing and out to dinner! I hope this is the end of Scott's long traveling, I can handle a few days, not a few weeks! I know he is working hard and doing his best. Happy Mothers Day to everyone!

Prom #2 Timpanogos

Mckenzie enjoyed Prom #2 at Timpanogos. This was her High School Prom and she was so excited to go. This time she chose to wear Shayla's Homecoming dress, when Shayla was homecoming princess. This is one of my favorites. Her date was her good friend Josh Webber.

For their day date they went to a Jazz playoff game on Friday night. They had so much fun, great seats, and the game was exciting.

The Jazz went on to play a great game and win which made the date all the better. She went with a group of about 12 kids.

Shantae and Shawn, Scott , Jordan, Jantzen and Jayden all wanted her tickets and were a little jealous of her going!

Her date had a fancie, dancie tux with tails, striped pants and black and white shoes.

For dinner they went up to Sundance to a friends cabin and had wonderful fillet Mignon dinner. She said the food was wonderful and so was the cabin.

The whole package!! Dress, jewelery, nails and hair. Luckily we already had the nails done from last time!!

She looks like a princess. Where is the carriage from last Prom?

Her cousin Stephanie Tenney did her hair. It turned out beautiful!! She had it in tight curls pulled to one side of her head. Stephanie also did her makeup. She is amazing.

OK, let me explain this picture! We thought she looked like Taylor Swift from her "Romeo and Julet" music video, with the way her leaves are falling down!! No I did not let her go to the Prom looking like this...but we thought it was kind of funny! We then put the sleeves in place! Modesty. Modesty, Modesty.

Prom #1 Orem High

McKenzie has had the opportunity to be asked to 3 Proms. Living here in Orem we live between about 6 High Schools. Having so many friends at each, she has been asked by 3 different guys to their Prom. Last week she attended Orem High's Prom. I told her we were tight this year and she had to pick through all of her sisters dresses and choose the 3 she wants to wear. Prom dresses are so expensive it is nice to be wore more than once!

Here at Orem she wore her Orange short dress. She wore her hair on the side, with large curls, in a ponytail. Then we found a large Orange flower. Her date Rory Stagel is about 6"10 and Kenzie is only about 5"4. She wore like 5 inch heels and they were still not tall enough. Rory plays basketball for Orem High! Jantzen only wishes he had his height!!

For their day date they went to boondocks for the day. They had so much fun, but especially playing miniature golf.

For dinner they went to PF Changs. The food was wonderful as always!!

He was so tall that he had to dance on his knees with her. It made it so much easier!!

Conference Morning

I'm so excited for General Conference. I've had a horrible week and I just want to relax and enjoy the words of our leaders:) This week I went to "Taste of Home" cooking school. It was so fun and I really enjoyed myself. I wasn't sure I should spend the money, but it really was only $9 a ticket so I went ahead and did it! One of the recipes was a Maple Breakfast Casserole. It looked and sounded kind of weird, but it had really good ingredients. So I got up this morning and am preparing a conference brunch. I posted the recipe so stay tuned and I let you know how it turned out. They smell like french toast or Cinnamon rolls. Everyone loves the smell. The pictures don't make it look very good.

Tomorrow we are having Penny's Coffee cake, posted on her food blog. Mckenzie had this when Penny was the camp cook at girls camp and she craves it. Give her recipe a try!!

Tonight is Ladies night, and this is the first time we are going to stay home. We are going to put on some music and scrapbook all night. I don't think Mckenzie is to happy about that, shopping is always more fun, but when you don't have money to shop then it is really NO fun!! Maybe will will start something new:) Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Mckenzie went to preference this weekend and had a great time! She went with Cade Wilkes from Pleasant Grove. Mckenzie's soccer team all went together. For their day date, they went to a church and played 3 legged soccer and dodgeball. Mckenzie had a blast!

That night they all went to Kelsey's home and had dinner. It was catered. Chicken, baked potato, beans, spinach salad, chocolate cake and ice cream! It tasted wonderful . (I know! I served and then ate the left overs)

After dinner they payed to have a bus come and pick up the team and their dates and take them to the dance at the golf course club house. It was al ot cheaper than a limo:)

Ok here is the whole team. Can anyone tell me what happened to this picture? I took it with my digital camera and it looks like a piece is been ripped or cut out of the corner....really weird!

NOELLE PIKAS PACE GOES FOR GOLD!!! GOODLUCK IN VANCOUVER! WE WILL BE CHEERING FOR YOU!

Noelle Pikus Pace is the top US skeleton racer at the Olympics this year! She is a family friend and the daughter-in-law of our bishop. Noelle grew up just down the road from us and married a guy in our ward. She was favored to win 4 years ago, but was in a freak accident. Just a few weeks before the last Olympics, a luge flew off the track and hit her in the leg breaking it. This was devastating to her. She was ready to retire and start a family. Noelle was determined to come back and get the medal that eluded her. She has shown great strength, determination and especially faith as she has come back from all her trials. During her healing time she had a baby girl named Lacee who is now 2. She is married to an amazing guy, who grew up in our ward, Janson Pace. Janson was about 14 when I had my Jantzen. So we always called him "Big Janson" He has been a great support to her and he even designed her sled for the games. Then little Lacee colored on it to make it a whole family affair!!

Noelle turned in the 5th place time tonight. Tomorrow afternoon she goes for the medals!!! Go Noelle you are AMAZING!!!

Jayden came home from school with a shiner on his eye. I asked him what had happened and he told me he had tried to kiss a girl at recess and she had punched him in the eye. I was a little shocked. He then told his Dad that someone tried to take his girlfriend away and so he got in a fight with them. I knew then he was having to much fun with his eye stories. Jayden was thrilled with his black eye because he had never had one and wanted a big story to go along with it. We told him he couldn't lie. He finally told us that he had been playing basketball at school and a kid threw his head back and hit him in the eye! Nice Shiner... but he liked his other stories better. Jayden also fell on the ice at school and hit his head. He claimed all day he had short term memory loss. I'm sure he drove the teachers crazy, because when he got home he drove me crazy!!! He couldn't remember that I told him to do chores...he couldn't remember how to do each chore....he couldn't remember eating dinner...he couldn't remember how to do his homework. He played on this for all it was worth until I started to really lose patience. Then He told me I wasn't the Mom her remembered. This kid cracks me up!

This was our last cub scout Pinewood Derby!!!!! Jayden's car was a last minute thought, but he did great. He took 4th over all and was happy he did well.

He wanted a blue car!! Scott put the weights on the bottom of the car and when he went to put

it down the track it was dragging on the bottom.....thank heavens for trial runs. we ended up moving the weights to the top of the car.

Great job Jayden...so glad you and your Dad had such a great time together making your car:)

I haven't posted much this winter because it has been a very different December. Scott quit his Job in November and is helping launch a new company in Idaho for the next few months. He was going to Idaho during the week and coming home on the weekends. This made it hard on the Christmas traditions!! I'm such a traditionalist that it was hard on me!! I tried hard to read the kids books, make the cookies, do the cards, do the 12 days of Christmas, sub for santa, Santa pictures and all the rest, but most of the time I failed! I soon had to realize that some of the traditions had to wait until next year when things are back to normal. It was a hard lesson to learn!! Here are a few fun Pictures of our Christmas. Mckenzie and Jantzen with Lexie at the Mall. On Christmas Eve we all went to the Mall for Santa pictures. Everyone stopped us and told us how cute Lexie looked. Everyone started fighting on who got to hold Lexie because she got so much attention... Jantzen won! He said Lexie attracted Chicks:)

All the kids on Christmas eve making the traditional Christmas Ornament. I think they do it to appease me! I have a hard time breaking tradition!

The ornament was a painted red block with a modge podge picture of them on the sides and Christmas paper on the other. Then a ribbon tied around the middle so it hung on the tree.

Christmas PJ's Jazz and BYU were the theme for my boys, The others bought their own for their spouses. We all stayed up until wee hours of the morning preparing for Santa's arrival. Christmas morning was wild but we had so much fun!! Everyone was happy. Jayden got a soccer goal and Jordan a LaBron James jersey! The girls got jeans, boots and jewelry. Shayla got a Twilight barbie and blanket. Lexie got a bouncer saucer. Jantzen got an ipod a lot of clothes too!

We had to share everyone for Christmas so it was the next night we all went to the movie and home for Christmas dinner and games. We played "True Colors" and "Are You Kidding Me". We laughed all night long. In the game "Are you kidding me" one of the challenges was to have a team strike a pose and hold it until their next turn. Jordan and Connor were a team and they were good sports when put in this awful pose.

Jordan had to keep his fingers between Connors toes...he had a hard time doing it!

Ok this picture says a thousand words.....When all the girls showed up to go to the movie we all had our crocheted head bands on. Shantae was a little embarrassed but we thought it was soooo funny. Jantzen had to put on one of Mckenzies other colors and jump in the picture. He hates to be left out!! JK Christmas was great and we hope you all had a wonderful time!!

Lexie Lou Who's blessing!!

As many of you know Scott has a nickname for everyone...Lexie is no different. When Shantae was little everyone thought she looked like Cyndi Lou Who from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" So now Scott calls Lexie..."Little Lexie Lou Who" and it has stuck. It kind of drives Shantae crazy..but Shantae's nickname was "Buggart" so I think she'll take Lexie Lou Who over that!

Today was Lexie's blessing. Shantae and Shawn had it at their home, due to so much illness in the area. We were missing a lot of people due to illness, but it turned out beautiful. Lexie wore Shantae's blessing dress that my Mom had bought her when she was blessed.

Here is the bunch. My kids, Shayla and Connnor, and my brother Shawn and his wife Kristy and two kids were the only ones from my side. Shawn's brothers and sister, parents and his Mom's parents were there from his side.

We ate a wonderful brunch, of the traditional ham rolls and salads. then some yummy desserts.

Her blanket was made by our neighbor Lisa Hawkins. It was beautiful.

My parents were serving a mission in West Virginia and just returned home this week after 18 months. They stopped by my house on their way home for a few hours. Mckenzie was named Utah's Prep Athlete of the week. She was sick with the flu and home from school. We got a knock at our door and there was David James. I ran up the stairs and told Mckenzie that channel 2 news was at the door. She was in bed with a fever and sore throat. She said "Yea right Mom, nice try to get me out of bed to go to school! She didn't believe me! I yelled for her to look out the window. She about peed her pants. She was running around trying to make her self look good before she went on camera. They are going to air it tonight on Channel 2 at 6:15. If you are not from Utah you can go to this link and watch it. ( I'm not sure when they will post it, but just keep checking) This was an awesome accomplishment for Mckenzie!

THS Wins State girls 4A State Title! Mckenzie The Hero!

Mckenzie's team won the 4A State Title Game last night at Rio Tinto Salt Lake. This is where the Real Salt Lake Professional team plays. There were about 300 screaming fans there for Timpanogos! This included her whole family! It was a dream evening! Timpanogos girls have played hard all year. They are amazing young ladies with great values a a great work ethic. Their coach has installed this in them. Natalyn Lewis is the head coach and Meesh Peterson is the assistant. It was the night of everything you have worked for all year, coming true. Mckenzie played amazing! Here she is working hard on the field! Here Mckenzie is kicking her first goal. It was an amazing shot from about 30 yards out!

This puts us up 1-0 over Bonneville. Mckenzie celebrating with her teammate Seirra. Bonneville came back to score a goal to tie it up.

Here is Mckenzie after she scored the winning goal with 30 seconds left in the game. She said it was everything she has ever dreamed of....the crowd cheering people going wild..She was a true hero! I don't think I have ever seen McKenzie show this much emotion! I love her face...It says everything:)

30 seconds later the game was over and Timpanogos has won there first state title in soccer! We had made it to the state semi-finals for the last 4 years..It's about time we won!

After the game Mckenzie was interviewed by the media. One Newspaper reporter asked her " "Wow do you think you have finally out done your sisters?" She was suprised the reporter remembered how great her sisters were, that has been about 5 years ago, but of course she reported "Yes, I think so. This is something they have never done!!"

Timpanogos junior McKenzie Adams has been content working behind the scenes. She's accepted her role of being the playmaker and setting up leading scorers Gel Dickson and Marissa Nimmer all season long.
But in the Class 4A championship game against Bonneville at Rio Tinto Stadium, she put herself in the spotlight and had her best game of the season on the biggest stage. She scored both goals in the Timberwolves' 2-1 win over the Lakers for the state title.
"I felt great setting them up this season but I wanted to show what I can do," said Adams, who scored the winning goal in the 79th minute. "When Gel crossed the ball, I thought 'This is it.' I wasn't nervous or anything. I knew it was going in."
Timpanogos coach Natalyn Lewis knew exactly what Adams was capable of and often referred to her as the team's secret weapon.
At the start of the game, Lewis had a feeling Adams would have a big performance and that included more than just scoring goals.
"From the very first ball she touched, I looked at my assistant coach and said, 'Adams came to play,' " Lewis said. "She had a great overall game. She set up the ball so many times and she had beautiful touches. Adams gave everything she had. It's the kind of thing you won't forget for the rest of your life."
Adams gave Timpanogos the lead in the 22nd minute with a shot that just went over the top of the Bonneville goalkeeper to find the back of the net.
She came up big again in the second half. With the clock ticking down and the game on the line, Adams tapped in a cross from Dickson that gave Timpanogos its first soccer title in school history.
"I saw Gel cross it to me and that's our secret weapon," Adams said. "I just focused and got the job done. This feels amazing. It's the best feeling."

Timpanogos Girls Soccer on to the State Championship!

Yes,it is almost the end of the Soccer Season! We have had a great year and so much fun:) It is a very busy time, but we will miss it when it is over! This is a picture of Mckienze's High School Soccer team. This was taken at a fun camp they had in Idaho. This team has done so well this year and has won every game through the the playoffs. Mckenzie has played well scoring 13 goals on the year and is leading the team in assists. Yesterday they won there semi-final game against Springville, now it is off the to finals in Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City on Friday, where they will play Bonneville (Ogden) for the State title. Does this sound familiar. Jantzen's team made it all the way last May and won the State Title. Good Luck Mckenzie...YOU ARE AN AMAZING SOCCER PLAYER!

Jantzen is playing club soccer for the Rangers right now. His team is in State Cup. His team will play in the Semi finals tomorrow night against the SLC Rush team. We are excited that Jantzen is playing well and his team is doing great. Good Luck Jantzen. Win State Cup!

24 years ago today we lost our little boy!

24 Years ago today Oct 16 our little Baby Britain passed away. I'm in Idaho and I don't have any pictures but the day never passes me by with out a small memory of what happened on that day. Scott was home from school and work ..it was a Wednesday. Britain was having a hard week and seemed to be very upset. We took him to the doctor twice that week and they had found nothing wrong with him. (I think now he may have been teething) That night we had had very little sleep, so we were thankful Scott was off. Britain had a seizure disorder so we were used to him having seizures. This particular morning he started having a seizure. I asked Scott to hold him while he went through it and I left to use the bathroom. When he came out of the seizure he had had a heart attack and had stopped breathing. We ran him to the hospital while I did CPR in the front seat. We only lived a few blocks from the hospital. I remember thinking that all I could hear was gurgling which meant he had aspirated and that wasn't good. We ran into the hospital where they took him to another room where they began to work on him....I remember so well the peaceful feeling of knowing he was gone. When the doctors asked us if we wanted them to keep working on him I knew the answer was no. I think the hardest part about the whole thing was having to face people and tell them what happened and why. I remember driving back to our apartment complex and seeing all our friends gathered around our apartment. I pleaded with Scott to drive away I wasn't able to face them yet. Being a man:) he told me I need to get out of the car and talk to them. I remember getting out of the car and collapsing to my knees into tears. I had been really strong to that point so I think he was shocked by my reaction. I just want to say how thankful I am for My belief in "Forever Families"! I know we will all see our little Britain again some day. Our little Bushun:)

Jayden and Edward's B-day

Jayden turned 10 on Sunday October 11. So on Saturday night a few of us went to "Pirates Cove" pizza. This is an amazing place full of pirates and fun!

Shantae and Shawn gave Jayden a football for his birthday. The perfect gift for a 10 year old boy, who plays football with the neighbor kids every night.

On Sunday night the whole family got together and had a party for Edward and Jayden. Jayden didn't mind sharing his birthday with a dog:)

Shayla made it a twilight birthday and they even had twilight plates and cups in honor of Edward.

Jayden's present to Edward was a squeaky toy and some dog breath treats for his bad breath.

Shayla and Connor gave Jayden a giant remote control car! He had fun playing with it and having it chase Edward.

Edward gave Jayden a dog calender so he could remember him...since his mom won't give him a dog of his own!!

This Party was on Monday was after his soccer game. We had his whole team and two coaches come over. That is 12 boys total. Luckily we have a big back yard because they never stopped going!! They played soccer all night and then ate pizza, roasted marshmallows, and had cake and ice cream.

We put all our fun games like ping pong, pin ball and Jayden's little new air hockey table out to play on the Patio. But soccer was the game of choice so we moved the fire pit and all the toys aside and let them run and run! Jayden had a fun birthday:) We love you Jayden.

Homecoming 2009 Mckenzie & Cayden

Mckenzie had so much fun at Homecoming this year. She went with a handsome young man named Cayden Brown.

He asked her by dropping off a bag of Tootsie rolls with a note that said "Hey "toots" will you "Roll" to Homecoming with me?" Then she had to go through all the Tootsie rolls to find his name written on the inside of one of the wrappers. If anyone knows our family we are a big fan of tootsie rolls, so this made for a fun evening:) Mckenzie answered by having a pizza delivered with the pepperoni spelling "yes".

I wanted to show you a picture of the corsage he gave her. It was one of the prettiest corsages I have ever seen. It came on a pearl like bracelet. So pretty:)

Her dress took us hours to find. Actually it was the first one she found and I told her it would be to hard and take to much time to make modest. So we went dress shopping for days and never found one any better or any more modest. So as always I spent days adding sleeves, adding 2 inches to make it long enough, and adding ruffle to the top so it wasn't so low. If I had had more time I would have changed a few things, but it worked out ok.

Shayla did Mckenzies hair and makeup. Shayla is always so good at that. So all in all Mckenzie look beautiful, yet a little sassy for the evening.

The bodice of the dress was all sequins so I was having a hard time sewing the sleeves on. I decided I needed to hand stitch them on. So I took the dress to all the soccer games the kids were playing and sat and sewed them on. I told her that sometimes I got distracted and forgot what I was doing on how many stitches I had done. I told Mckenzie that I just wanted the dress to stay together until the dance was over:) Sure enough her sleeve came flying off at the dance :0 At least some mom was prepared and sent safety pins with her daughter so Mckenzie could pin her sleeve back on. Oh well at least I tried. Point is ...don't take your sewing to a soccer game when you can't keep focused on what our doing:)

Cayden even asked me what time I would like her home....what boy does that anymore? He was awesome. I'm so glad there are still such wonderful young men out there, that treat girls with respect and their parents with respect also. I told Jantzen he could take lessons from Cayden:)

Cayden's tie matched her perfectly. He said he has a great Mom who picked it out:)

For dinner they went to a boys home for Chinese food. Mckenzie said it was great. Then after the dance they went and watched a movie with some friends at Caidens house.

The day date was to the zoo. Mckenzie said this was a perfect day date. You really had to interact and you were able to spend the day talking and enjoying everyone you were with. She said Cayden was perfect gentlemen and she really enjoyed his company. This is so important ...ever been on a date when you can't stand the person your with:)

Shantae went to the hospital at 9:30. By the time they got her in the room and put in her IV it was close to 11:00. They couldn't find a vein and it took them 5 tries to finally get in that IV. They broke her water and off she went. She received her epidural at about 1:30 and the baby was born at 5:06. This is Me a total wreak! I went to work to try and keep my mind off of things and didn't come over until about 3:00. When I walked in the room I started to cry, that got her going and we were both a mess from there. I finally couldn't handle a room full of people any more and so we all went to the waiting room. After sitting there forever my mind went crazy with every possible thing that could go wrong, that I couldn't handle it any more and I left to go down to the snack bar at the bottom of the hospital. (Food does wonders for the nerves.) The next call I got was that Shantae had had the baby.

Lexie Joanne Yeats was born at 5:05 p.m. Sept 18 and weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces. She is a tiny little runt, but has Shawn eyes and Shantae's mouth. She is a skinny as they come...kind of reminds me of Shantae who was a 6 pound skinny runt when she was born!

Adams Family Update

Ok, so I've been a little slow in updating my blog. I used to be so good, but as of late I've had blogging burnout. My computer is acting up and it takes me forever upload pictures, so I usually give up after about 15 minutes. Sometimes when I'm reading others blogs it will only bring up the pictures or only the words. It gets so frustrating. Yes I need a new computer....but I said that 6 months ago. So here is what has been going on for the last month. One of our dearest friends Dan Bishop died suddenly a couple of weeks ago. This was such a sad and traumatic time for us and our ward family. His wife is a great friend and Dan was one of Scott's dearest friends. Dan wasn't feeling well on Wednesday evening. Thursday he went into the doctor and by Saturday he was gone. He had formed a bunch of blood clots in his legs and all through his abdomen. A very rare thing to happen to such a healthy guy. His body just started to shut down. We know that it was his time to go, but it has been a very hard thing to go through. His wife and family are hanging in there. They are amazing people, with great faith, but they really have a hole in their heart right now. Prayer and service is about all we can do for them right now.

There have been a lot of soccer tournaments in the last few weeks for my Boys. Jayden's team played in the Sparta cup. Jayden's team are the Rangers 00 x-league. They are a great little team! This little team last year played up a year and took second. This year They played there own age group and they won every game. Every game but won was won by 6 goals or more. That is a lot for soccer! Jayden has been playing Wing and goalie. He had an amazing tournament!! Way to go Jayden.

Jantzen's club team Rangers U-16 won the Park City tournament and also Sparta cup. Jantzen played great. He plays mid field. Jantzen wasn't there for the medal ceremony for Sparta because we had to get back for Dans funeral. Dan was Jantzen's Young Mens President. Here is Jantzen with his Coach Curtis Grahme at Park City.

Mckenzie is also starting high school season. They are one of the best teams in the State this year! They have played 2 games and won them both. Last year we made it to the semi finals in State. This year they want to win the State title. As you can see we keep very busy with Soccer year round! We will be going to California, Vegas, (twice) and Arizona this year with McKenzies club team. This is the year of recruting so we have to get her exposed to a lot of schools!! Mckenzie attended BYU soccer camp this year and was named to the camp "All Star" team. That was out of 150 girls. She was excited about that. So soccer is in full force. One of my side jobs is getting all the ref's for games in Utah County. It is over whelming, but pays well. My kids and husband all ref which helps so they can make really good money as well. So as you can see we are busy, maybe not with harvest as most of my family is, but with all the other activities and work that we pile in there to make up for not living on the farm. Update on Shantae...her due date is the 15th of September, but she is having a lot of contractions right now. They will come all day if she is standing. They have told her to take it easy and stay down for a couple days to see if that will help her. She is so small, I hope she doesn't come to early:)

DOG POOP COOKIES

Jayden wanted me to put this on my blog. He made cookies for me one day and he claimed they looked like little dog poops. Jayden did a very good job making them and he had lots of Dog poo jokes that he shared while making them. True boy style. I'll share the recipe on my blog recipe of the week box (since it has been 6 months since I changed it!

Back to School starts today...It's the most wonderful time of the year:) Enough said!

Bear Lake 2009

This year we went to Bear Lake a little early. The water was cold, but the lake was kind of empty. We always have an enjoyable time. Every body knows how bad I hate the water and the lake I'm always so worried about going that someone will be hurt. Jayden hurt his leg on the boat, but other than that we have been blessed. My dear friend Michelle was killed there last year and her family was injured. It was hard to see the beach and remember. She has a wonderful family and my love and heart goes out to them this time of year! We missed all those
who were not there is year!!

Marshmallow Wars!! Sunday afternoon we always go to the mountains to have our war. The chipmunks love the marshmallows. They have so much fun killing each other! The only problem is the mosquitoes. It's all about team strategy!!

But since my scanner, printer and computer are broke, I have to use the lap top that doesn't have many features. Guess who has Swine Flu???

Yes, Swine flu has hit our family. Guess where we got it from....EFY. Jantzen went to SUU basketball camp in Cedar City last Sunday. This was only 1 day after getting home from EFY. Monday morning he started with the fever. He was sick the whole time he was at camp. I felt bad for him because he earned all the money to go:( I almost drove down and got him because his fever was so bad, but he said he would be fine. I was worried the whole time. When I called the Doctor he asked me if Jantzen had had a flu shot. I told him yes, then he said that that made it about 95% sure that he had the swine flu. Jantzen came home today (Thursday) and is feeling much better. He still has a little congestion and is worn out, but is doing better. Now we have to keep him from giving the rest of the family the flu. He called his friends when he got home and the boy that was his roommate at EFY also has swine flu. Utah has it BAD!! A lady I work with took her 17 year old to the emergency because she couldn't get his fever down. It was filled with Elders from the MTC and kids from EFY. This stuff is miserable. Utah is 3rd in the U.S. with cases reported, we didn't even report ours. Thank heavens Shantae is gone for a week!! Don't want a Pregnant Women to get this!

Guess what... Mckenzie just told me she is getting stuffed up....here we go again!!

Jantzen and McKenzie had the awesome opportunity to attend EFY this year at BYU. They had so much fun!! BYU does a great job getting speakers that really relate to the youth. Jantzen said his group was full of a nerds but he still had a great time:) Mckenzie on the other hand had a wonderful group and she made some really great friends!!

When I ask McKenzie about her time at EFY.. she gets a huge grin and says...What happened at EFY stays at EFY:) Will I survive?

Mountain View Bruins take State Soccer title!!

The Mountain View Bruins took the state 4A title in Thursday evening 3-1. They were able to play in the beautiful Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City!!! The field was amazing...it seemed so much bigger than their own. Jantzen was able to play about 10 minutes in the first half and 7 minutes in the second. Not bad for a little freshman!! He can't wait to get his State Title ring.

This picture was taken by the deseret news. If you look close down in the left hand corner you can see Jordan ringing a cow bell and Shantae wearing a pink shirt and brown hat, cheering Jantzen on. We all sat in the front row behind the team!

Jantzen is on the second row,second from the left. Way to go Bruins, you played amazing soccer!

P.S. Mckenzie lost her game 2-0 in the semi finals. She was sad, but thought she played well. There were alot of college coaches out to watch. This is her main year of Soccer, so I hope that she can play this fall in Rio Tinto stadium with their High School team!! I'm not sure if you noticed but Mckenzie and Jantzen are going to different high schools. Mckenzie goes to Timpanogos. Jantzen liked the boys sports better at Mt.View. I guess that it payed off.

I can't believe it was 1 year ago today that I was planning 2 weddings. HOW DID I DO IT?????
I can't believe that she put her wedding in the middle of Soccer State Cup. It all worked out and everything went beautifully, except for a little rain. I look outside and see the wonderful weather and wish that it had been that warm a year ago. But you can't wish for things that didn't happen.

We are so happy that Connor is a part of our family. He is always so happy, and kind. When he and Shayla come to visit it brightens the whole room. Scott and all the boys go golfing. Scott says no matter how anyone is playing it is always fun to play with Connor, he makes it so funny and enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better young man as a son-in-law!!! He surely makes Shayla extremely Happy. We love you Connor.

Thanks Shayla and Connor for giving us our first Grand Dog...Edward:) (everyone knows I am no a dog fan, so they think it is funny to call him my grand dog)

We need to have another wedding. It's the only time we see family!!

Yes It's official!! Jantzen's team won their semi-final game over Logan's Mt. Crest to advance to the finals.!! Here is the crowd storming the field. Jantzen being called on to enter the game. The mighty Little Freshman!

Here's our dilemma....

Mckenzie's team won there game 4-2 and plays in the Semi-final state game on Thursday at 6:30 against Laytons La Roca. Mckenzies team played Lehi Strikers. Mckenzie played awesome and scored a goal.

I think her team was a little excited!! They have a great chance of making the final game on Saturday.

What do I do? Split up? No one wants to miss the State Championship game, yet we don't want to miss Mckenzie's either. Oh what should a Mother do???? Mckenzie better win her next game so she can play in the State Cup finals on Saturday!! WE NEED TO WIN:) (so I won't feel guilty for picking Jantzen's game)

Ok so I haven't posted much! I have been busy with soccer and baseball:) Jantzen plays in the High School semi finals in soccer on Tuesday. He plays Mountain Crest from Logan. It will we a tough game, we are hoping they come through. If they win they get to play in the REAL soccer stadium "Rio Tinto"stadium where our pro team plays. We are excited. Good luck Jantzen!!

Mckenzie is playing quarter finals of her clubs State Cup. She plays on Monday and should win....but you never know. If she does she plays again on Wednesday in the semis and then Saturday in the finals. Looks like a fun week of good Soccer:)

Mothers Day.. Bah Humbug!

I don't like Mothers Day. Every year I come home from Church feeling like a failure. Yes My husband is great...he makes me breakfast (Church is at 11:00) and get's me a nice gift. It is the only day my kids are nice to me..ask Jantzen. At Church the speakers talk about how their Mom is perfect or how they are the perfect Mom, or even worse what we need to do to be better Mom's. We should never yell, we should do everything for our kids, and taking a little break for ourselves is selfish. The pioneers didn't so it why should we. After Church I come home and help with dinner, but after dinner the kids disappear saying the dishes aren't their problem. (luckily Shayla stepped in and helped) I think we should forget about Mothers day and all the phoney baloney. That way I don't feel bad at church for wanting to strangle my kids, the kids don't feel pressured to be nice to you and get you a gift. And the church can keep part of their budget for other things like "do dads" for young women. Being a Mother is hard and thankless anyway, save us the guilt trip. (Yes I do have Hormones)

Happy 15th birthday Jantzen!! Jantzen the Ladies Man. Jantzen the Soccer player, Jantzen the Basketball player, Jantzen the Golfer, Jantzen the "Know it all" Jantzen the Hot Head, Jantzen the Clown. Jantzen the Giggler.

Today is Jantzen's 15ht birthday. These are the only pictures I have on this computer so I thought this about explains Jantzen's life! Notice how Jantzen sticks out his tongue when he shoots:)

Jantzen's high school soccer team won the region championship and is on to state next week!! Jantzen is a great athlete and a big comic act. He thinks he's hot stuff!!

Jantzen was my hardest delivery and took 13 hours to deliver. (all the others were about 4hours) I always have said that Jantzen is hard headed and has to do things on his terms and when he wants to. I think he was telling the angels in heaven..." I'm not going down there and you can't make me!! I'll go when I want to." This is a typical line of Jantzen ever since he could talk.

Jantzen won every baby contest he was ever entered into starting at age 6 weeks. He has always been a very cute kid and a very handsome young man. We call him a lady killer:) He has a killer smile!

Mckenzie's Prom

Ok so I have a lot of pictures, but this is my last daughter to play dress-up with so here goes!

Mckenzie was asked to prom by her good friend Taylor Richards. They are both Sophomores but 16. They had a lot of fun! Mckenzie loved it because she went with a friend and there was no pressure.

Shayla came over to help do the hair, makeup and fix the dress. This dress was worn by all my girls. It was Shantae's Senior year Prom dress.

She looks Beautiful!! So excited for her first prom!

An Evening with the Prophet

Tonight we went to the Printers Association of Utah's annual banquet. The guest of honor was President Thomas S. Monson. The prophet of our church. It was about $100 dollars a plate, but Scott's work paid for it. I was so excited to go and it was a wonderful evening except for one minor glitch. I took out my camera so I could have pictures of the evening. This is a picture of most of the people Scott works with and their wives. As soon as we took the picture, my camera went dead. I was so angry. My kids had taken it and taken a bunch of dumb pictures of themselves playing in the back yard. Needless to say I was heartbroken that I wouldn't get any pictures.

Scott tried to get some pictures while we were standing next to the prophet with his camera phone, but they turned out a little dark.

This shot was taken as he was getting ready to leave. He was standing and talking to our little group. His body guards wouldn't let us shake his hand. (They were big dudes) He was very entertaining to listen to and went on with story after story. He loves to tell stories and loves to talk. You could tell he loved being a printer. We were so excited to stand next to the prophet. I wanted to just reach out and touch his jacket, but I held back....probably not to polite. Kind of reminded me of the women who touched Jesus robe. I didn't want the prophet asking me why I touched his jacket. That would be embarrassing.

This is not the first time I have been without a camera. Once when Jantzen met his Idol at a concert. Barney:) Jantzen was 3 and he loved Barney more than anything. We went to his concert and of course my camera went out. No pictures of a hysterical child screaming when Barney said good bye on stage. It was heartbreaking! Next Jordan and I were in Spanish Fork walking down a back street, coming from a little scrapbook store I had stopped to check out. Jordan was about 13. WE walked by a Semi truck and out jumped Karl Malone. No Camera in the purse:( No camera phones back then. All we have is a memory of Jordan shaking his hand. I never go any where without a camera!! Remember that. You miss out on those little memories.

For all my friends at work, here are the two cutest twins in the world!! I have talked about
them non-stop for a month now! My brother Taryn's wife Dedre, gave birth on Monday to these two beautiful girls. They live in Washington so I can't see them and hold them, so pictures are the next best thing. Roxy looks like Mom and Ruby looks like Dad. (at least that's what I think) Yes I'm a very proud Aunt!

Since I bought Jaydens clothes at "The Children's Place" I knew I had to try and match the orange for the rest of the kids. Kenzie got an orange skirt and the boys orange ties. I put an orange shirt under mine to try and fit in. Jantzen was a good sport, but wondered how old they have to be before I quit matching them. I told him he had to be married. I bought the married girls skirts, but not matching.

No the bag is not for matching. It is my scripture bag, it just happen to fit in.

Yes I even bought a tie for my husband:) He was a good sport.

This one is for you Dedre. Mckenzie told me she wasn't sure she had an orange purse to match her dress. (Of course this is a necessity). I busted up when she yelled to me she had the perfect match. The Hartley B&H Onion Bag purse matched perfectly! Everyone at church asked her about her bag that matched her dress. "Who is Hartley B and H?" She had a good story to tell.

The Hunt

Needless to say, when the kids get older they aren't looking for the candy in the egg...they want the money! We fill the eggs with Candy and change. This year due to inflation and being broke..the golden egg was only worth 5 dollars instead of ten. It was a mad house. Everyone only got 15 eggs apiece. That is about 120 eggs to hide.

Shayla did it!! She found the golden egg under the rake. Way to go Shay Shay! Their dog Edward keptthe eggs burying them in the sand pile. Sounds like a dumb do:)

Mckenzie get's asked to Prom

Mckenzie got asked to Prom today by one of her really good friends. They made the yard look like a crime scene. They came while she was at soccer. She never took a picture but they had the tape running through the cars too.

She had to pop balloons to find the guys name. Now we need a fun and creative way to answer. Have any Ideas?

Dance Dance Revolution

Jantzen is such a clown!! They had a big competition at Orem Jr. High in "Dance Dance Revolution" All the 7th graders competed for a champion, then all the 8th graders, then all the 9th graders. Jantzen won the 9th grade. Then they had a dance off for the best in the school. Guess who won:) Yes my "man with the moves" is what we call him. This took a couple of weeks to do and he kept telling us everyday that he was still winning. We laughed because we have the game and he never plays it. There is one boy on student council that couldn't participate because they were running the contest, named Connor White. He is amazing and Jantzen said Connor would have blown Jantzen out of the competition. Jantzen was excited with his prize. A Costco bag of candy!

I'm so excited to report that I completed 1 of my goals in my "Pursuit for Excellence" or My new years resolutions.

I Belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. In our church every 6 months they have a conference so we can listen to our prophet and his apostles. They want us to be a better, kinder and loving people. I'm so thankful for this. To learn more you can hit the I believe button on the side bar. I have seen alot of people on my map have found my blog through google. (someone from Ireland today)Please enjoy!
I completed the reading of all the conference talks from General Conference Oct 2008. They were so incredible and it's amazing how much you miss or forget from last conference. I think there were so many good talks that it is hard to pic just a few that I loved ! Here are a few that I enjoyed--
"A Return to Virtue" by Elaine Dalton
I think this talk is one of my favorites. It may be because I'm raising teenagers, but this is something I teach my kids everyday. The world is so desensitized into thinking morals are old fashioned. We really need to take a stand!
"We do hard things. But with the Lord's help we can do All things!"

"Christan Courage" By Robert D. Hales.
Wow what a talk for our day! He answers so many questions about why we don't fight back against those that persecute us. This talk really hit home almost 5 months after it was given due to the recent HBO show "Big Love". If you have a moment listen to this talk again, it is so amazing. (He also tells you to blog your feelings:)

"Our Hearts Knit as One" By Elder Henry B. Eyring
This theme was the theme of one of our Family Reunions one year at Bear Lake. Patty and Bruce picked it. As I read and listened to this talk I felt they were so inspired to pick this theme. In the world we live in our wards and our family's now more than ever need to come together and be as one in unity. We must unite in Righteousness to fulfill the purposes of the Lord.

Scott really enjoyed President Monsons "Finding Joy in the Journey". I had to teach this talk and I was amazed how may beautiful and profound quotes by our prophet can be found in this talk. I wrote them all down for the sisters to come back and look at and study. My favorites...
" Stresses in our lives come regardless of our circumstances. We must deal with them the best we can. But we should not let them get in the way of what is most important--and what is most important always involves the people around us"

"Never let problems to be solved become more important than a person to be loved"

There is no tomorrow to remember if we don't do something today!

I think every ones favorite was Elder Uchdtdorf's "Lift where you stand". I think more people in the ward have given a talk on this subject. Loved it.

When we were coming home from Idaho a few weeks ago we told the kids that we we were going to spend an hour listing to General Conference so we could catch up on our reading. Of course they threw a huge fit (mainly Jantzen). After every talk they would plead with me to change the station. The next day Jayden came home from school and told me he had talked to a girl about coming to Church with him like the lady on the church tape. The talk was "Go Ye Therefore" by Silvia H. Allred. In the talk she tells a story about her daughter Margie inviting her best friend to Primary and how her best friends Dad let her friend be baptized.

Jayden told me his friends Dad had beer in the Fridge. So his Mother, the friends grandmother, had kicked the Dad out of the house. Jayden responded by asking the girl to come to Primary and told her that her Dad better get it together so he could listen to the missionary lessons and come to her baptism. (He's a pretty pushy and confident missionary)
I was shocked on how much he had taken in from those talks, even though he and Jantzen had complained. I was very proud of him.

I'm sorry for rambling on but I felt that I needed to write down or blog my feeling today. Jayden is sick and we are home from Church, so here is my spiritual thought for the day! Enjoy.

Rocketman

At cub scouts Jayden had to make a rocket this year instead of a pinewood derby car. This was a mess because Scott and Jayden had never made one before. They sanded and sanded, painted it black with red fins and prayed it would move.

Here is Jayden cheering his rocket on. Jaydens rocket was #1. He was so excited. It flew by all the rest. Jayden couldn't believe it. He and Scott were so shocked. It recieved the Supersonic award.
Shantae even decided not to come because she thought that they were going to be embarrassed. This was unlike a couple of months ago when they did the boats for rain gutter regatta. Scott was gone and Mom had to make it, The boat kept falling over and he got last place. Jayden cried all the way home because his Mom screwed up the boat. Sorry:( Mom is not very good at these things.

Jantzen First High School Soccer Game

I had to post this picture!! Last Monday we went to Jantzen's first high school soccer game. He was so excited to play because he had made the varsity team as a freshman. (I'm allowed to brag I'm his Mom. Besides my kids are grown up and I can't post cute pictures of them in princess out fits, or riding a gator, so let me brag) Yes I have a complex. Anyway, we showed up at the game in American Fork and after about 2 minutes into the game it started to snow. Then it became a blizzard. You couldn't see the ball, the players, or the refs. It was freezing!! Just as Jayden had demanded I take him to the car, the coach called on Jantzen to enter the game. By this time we all looked like snowmen and were frozen solid. I couldn't leave just as Jantzen was going in, so we stuck it out for about 3 more minutes. Then the Ref called the game.
By the time we packed everyone up, including our soccer chairs and got back to the car we were beyond frozen. My hands were sooooo cold they were hurting and throbbing. I wanted to cry as we heated them back up with the car heater. I'm sure this is only the beginning. Welcome to Spring Soccer!! (the game was a tie 0-0)

For Scott's 48th Birthday!

1. How did you meet your husband?

I saw him at a summer institute class in Richland Washington and had some friends do some investigating to find out who he was. I thought he looked a little young. Little did I know he had just returned from his mission about 2 months earlier.

2. How long did you date before you were married? 1 year almost to the day.

3. What was a fun date you remember? I don't know if it was fun, but I was involved in showing livestock at the county fair. I had won the best showman my age in the steer division. In order to win top showman you had to show all the animal in all divisions. Much to my embarrassment Scott came to watch me show. While showing the Pig it kind of went out of control and was running all over the pin. He was busting our laughing as I was mortified!! If he only would have known that that is how our life would be. I still run around chasing a bunch of Pigs that never mind what I have to say:)

4. How long have you been married? 25 years and 8 months

5. What is his best feature? His eyes. He has the most beautiful shade of blue eyes!

6. What is his best quality? This is a hard one he has many. He's so easy to get along with. He's every ones friend and everyone loves him. He has a way of calming me down as well as other people around him. He is a very caring person.

7. Does he have a nickname? Yes, Doodle

8. Does he have a nickname for you? Yes Pamela Sue Raejean Hartley Adams?

9. Do you have any children? (7) 3 girls, 4 boys

10. Does he have a nick name for your children? Bashun, Jordo or Jdog , Bugart, Shaybe Baby, T.D.or Poopers, Bubba Ray, and Jayjade.

11. What' s his favorite food or restaurant? Seafood Red Lobster

12. What's his favorite Sport? All sports BYU or his kids plays. He loves to play basketball.

13. Where was your first kiss? At the park in Richland down by the Columbia river. Yes he initiated it, not me!
14. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Go out to dinner and talk or play games. He loves to go to sporting events.

15. Does he have any hidden talents? He can play the piano by ear. He loves to sit and tinker at the piano and pick out songs.

16. Does he do some thing well? He could sell anything. Scott is a total salesman and when he believes in something he will put his soul into it. When people want something sold they find Scott. I think this is why he is such a great missionary. He know the gospel and he can really teach it. He's also an amazing basketball player. He still can take it too some of these young boys and they always say they can't believe how quick he is and what a great shooter he is, yes even at 48.

17. What do you admire most about him? I would say that he isn't afraid of anything. He tackles everything head on. He can always make a bad situation better. He is definitely a peacemaker sometimes to a fault. People will walk on him, and he just turns the other cheek.
He's also a great father. He spends a lot of time with his kids and he shows them how much he loves them.

Scott you are a wonderful man and the best husband anyone could ask for. I'm so glad I married you. I think you are more like my Mother then I am. You carry many of the selfless qualities she has. Thanks for having a wonderful testimony and doing what's right. YOUR AMAZING!

Look who is turning 48!! Wow we are getting old! No you are getting old Ha Ha!! Look at how time flies! You were such a cute kid. Scott is still so active playing basketball almost everyday, and refereeing every sport. He's a great Dad. He is always to every child's game and supporting them in everything they do! His kids adore him and think his opinion is golden. I just think he is plain adorable. Happy Birthday You Sexy Old Man!!

This is my mother Berniel Schulthies Hartley. She is on a mission in west virgina. Today is her birthday and it is the 23 anniversary of her 40 birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! Today I was watching T.V. and they were talking about what state smiles the most. The state that smiles the most was Utah. They have very friendly people here in this state. Then they went on and said the state that smiles the least was West Virginia. Jayden piped up and said "Hey thats why grandma went on a mission there. She need to make sure everyones smiling." So there you are Mom. Happy Birthday and Keep on Smiling!

McKenzie's new Zebra painted bedroom!!

Mckenzie had a soccer tournament in St.George the day after her birthday. Our Family decided to do a "While you were out" for Mckenzie birthday and redo her room. She had no idea we were going to do this. We had went to Idaho and we loved the color of her cousins Candice's room. I know Mckenzie loves zebra's so I was trying to come up with an idea on how to do her room. Her other cousin Kristi Iba gave me the idea to paint one wall with a zebra pattern. (Mckenzie didn't come to Idaho so she had no idea of our plans. As soon as Mckenzie left we knew we had 24 hours to get to work. Here is a picture of her new comforter.

Shantae and Shayla cleaned out her room. That took about and hour, there was alot of teenage crap! Shayla and Jantzen redid the dresser. It was pretty old and in rough shape, but it looks good as new now! Thanks for the ideas Tricia and Hayley. They really worked! Connor put together the pink cubby holes. Jordan had to sand the walls down due to the fact that I used to have a Barney room and I had flicked paint on the wall and you could still see the flicks, even through the light purple paint we did after the Barney room. Jordan did a great job. (When we could keep him on task)

Shantae painted the mural. We had found a picture on the Internet of a small zebra wall, so Scott and I painted the white wall and Shantae went to work. She drew the stripes and then painted the whole mural herself. We opened the window and sat her on a chair so she would feel ok the whole day. She was a little cold, but she never did get sick from the smell of paint or from standing too long. Thats all we would need for her to start doing was throwing up. She did a great job. She has a better picture she will post on her blog.

Scott and I did the rest of the work with the taping and the painting. We finished 5 minutes before she came home. I hurried to go pick her up from her ride while the others took down the tape and cleaned up the room. We had her close her eyes when she came in and boy she was shocked!! She didn't even recognize her dresser, let alone her purple room was gone! She loved it! We don't have the walls decorated yet, but I have to paint her magnet board black as well as a few other things. I don't recommend this to anyone. I could hardly move the next day, my arms ached and my back did too. Scott and Jordan were just as sore as I was. The things we do for our children!

Shawn wasn't able to help he had to work, but he was there in spirit.

16th birthday mall scavenger hunt

For Mckenzies birthday she had a Mall Scavenger hunt. They had 21 clues of places they had to go, things they had to do,and pictures they had to take. They don't like you to take pictures in the Mall so they had to be sneaky about it. First they had to go to "The Children's Place" and get flip flops and a shopping bag to put their shoes in. Yes the biggest size flip flop is a 6 so it fit most of the girls. Then they had to take a picture of their feet. Then it was off to get their pedicures. Luckily the place gave me a discount. $20 a girl. Here is Mckenzie a with all of friends enjoying themselves.

Mckenzie had a soccer games just before we left for her party, so she is enjoying the relax time!!

The girls also had to buy Mckenzie an outfit for under $20 while on the scavenger hunt. Here they all are taking pictures in Forever 21 with fun hats.
